GOT2B GM Posted February 5, 2013 Report Share Posted February 5, 2013 When adjusting the lever rod, do it so that the lever will JUST open the door. If you adjust it too far, what happens is the door opening rod doesn't fully release, which doesn't allow the lock to unlock. Sort of like if someone is trying to open the door while you are trying to unlock it. If that makes any sense. Test the latch manually with the door open, while locking and unlocking the door, mimicking regular use, ensuring you have it adjusted correctly before closing the door. 19Cutlass94 Posted February 5, 2013 Report Share Posted February 5, 2013 I'll be honest, when my GP used to do this I used to just pull the handle swiftly but gently multiple times in rapid succession and usually by about the 3rd or 4th pull at most it would pop the latch.
