Euro
To add to my already splendid morning after seeing my passenger side carpet completely soaked... I'm at the store this morning to grab something before work, maybe 10 minutes in the store. I come back out and the car won't start. Turned over on first crank and then died. Next round it wouldn't turn over. Third try, it finally stumbled and started..turning on every light on my dash minus performance shift and the SES light(so Service Vehicle, Anti Lock, Trac, etc). It ran and drove fine the rest of the way to work(like 5 miles...and it made the first 20 miles no problem), but any throttle pressure would cause me to "boost" according to the gauge. After getting to work I then found my keyless fob didn't work, along with the door lock button in the car. Did something get wet this morning? I put a battery in it on Monday, I've put about 100 miles on it since then and it's been running great. Did I mess up a fuse maybe? I was moving around the fuse box pretty well doing the battery so maybe I bumped one of the fuses and it blew? Idk. None of the wires look pinched or damaged, and nothing appears to be wet. But I went out a couple hours after I got to work and the car's completely dead.
95 vert
Had a Regal recently that did some weird shit like this. Had a burnt contact in the ignition switch.
AL
I have a spare ignition switch from my girls 01 Regal, we replaced it due to the coming freely out, Id sell it cheap if you want to try it out, the key resistance might be different though
Euro
Would make sense. Rich17 cleaned the positive cable, as it was corroded to shit. My ignition switch has been giving me troubles for months now, but I haven't had to do the, "stick a pen up the underside of the steering column to get the key out"...in a while. So maybe it's just finally going bad.
AL
That solenoid is separate from the ignition switch
