After searching the forum I still couldn't find the answer I was seeking. I recently purchased a '94 Cutty vert  LQ1 parts car that has brand new brakes all around!:).

My question is would the front & rear brakes (rotors & pads) swap directly to my '92 3.1 CS vert or would I need to change the calipers as well. I know that a upgrade exsists out there, but don't know if a '94 brakes would be an upgrade for '92 car or not.

Thanks in advance, Steve

The 94 rear brake swap is worth doing. The rear calipers from the 94 will bolt on to the 92 car. That is worth doing as the 92 rear brakes aren't that great.

Thanks, 94 Olds Vert! So I do need to swap the rear calipers. Do the front Calipers need to be swapped as well? I also plan on swapping the F&R sway bars and STB too. I'm sure there will be many other things taken from car and put on my '92 in the future.

92 and 94 front brakes SHOULD be identical unless someone else swapped them. late 95s and beyond got the larger fronts brake setup(11.25 vs 10.5 IIRC).

Robert, Thanks for reply! Now I know what I'll be doing next weekend. Weather permitting.

X2 on what Robert said about the front brakes. It takes a lot to put the newer 96+ (late 95s?). It's not as easy as swapping the caliper and rotors.

Yeah, I would assume that spindles and maybe some steering stuff would be needed for the front brake swap since the rotors are larger. My project for this weekend is the '94 rears and the near new '94 fronts to my '92.

I pulled the rotors & calipers off the '94 this afternoon and unbolted the rear sway bar. Can I remove one of the rear shocks to remove the rear sway bar or would the car drop?

Who sells braided steel brake lines for our Cutty's?

Goodridge makes the brake lines, look them up for the chevy lumina and you will find them
