TeeJay3800
Yes, I have never been impressed with glasspacks. Their service life is ridiculously short. I have owned several GM V6s and I think the 60º V6 is a great sounding motor. I too have significant resonance around 2100-2500. I'd still like to keep that great sound, but maybe tone down that slightly raspy resonance.
CPSMonteZ34
This seems like the topic for me then. I have been looking at Dynomax and Magnaflow for replacing my current mufflers. Stock piping is fine, as is cat and resonator. All I need is the mufflers and tips. Question being, what will offer me the best bang-fo-da-buck regarding the mufflers if all I want is just the better sound? Also, if sound quality will become burdened with rasp or hollow tin-can sounds, should I even bother with them and just get standard replacement, stock universal fit mufflers...and basically say, stock is good enough? Personal taste for tips is stock round - though I'd imagine the upper length extension is just to keep the exhaust from flowing under the bumper. What looks good for dual-tips to you guys? Aaron
flowmasters do sound better--on a 5.0 stang or another V8. they sound like shit on the 3.4. they like the pushrods. my cars exhaust, from the 40+ ive heard, is the best sounding, without thinking twice, out there. Johns was mean as ehll, but straight piped so was never quiet. and it didnt help too much, cuz i walked him at the track.
