the_brandon
Thought I'd share something I found and performed on my car. It works very good too, http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-diy-aux-input-04-xm-equipped-cars-64293.html
carkhz316
Thanks for sharing. I stumbled upon this when my brother wanted me to put it in his '08 GXP. So far I've done his with the single-disk monsoon, another mutual friends '06 GXP with the 6-disk (BOSE, I think) It's the same radio I have in my pickup. I also have done the one in my truck, as well as my 2 more of the '02 and older Silverado radios. I should probably do a write-up one of these days. I just need to remember to take all the pictures instead of just a few, since I can never remember to.
Addicted To Boost
Would this work on my non XM equipped Monsoon radio?
carkhz316
I don't know if it will or not, but leaning towards a no, since this method directly interrupts a XM feed to work. One would have to do some digging to find out how. I'm sure it could be done, though I'm just not sure about it at the moment. The ~'02-older radios I mentioned are done through the CD line level input internally, so I would imagine it would be done similar to that, though I just don't know about your particular radio. carkhz316
Does your car have or come originally equipped with XM? If so then it will be pretty easy. Otherwise, if your radio is like the older 2nd gen Pontiac radios or similar then I think it can still be done, just have to use the CD player function to get it to work, after wiring it into the audio for that. I was actually just wondering about this...my '06 does not have XM or anything, it's just a standard non-MP3 CD player. Is it possible to add AUX? 2k2cse
I was actually just wondering about this...my '06 does not have XM or anything, it's just a standard non-MP3 CD player. Is it possible to add AUX? It is possible, it'll just take a bit more work. The biggest problem is trying to figure out which wires to tap into inside the radio. I installed an aux jack in my century using the cassette player. It was straightforward once I found a write up on which wires to splice.
