Another brake question

So I am trying to gather all of the parts I am going to need to delete the ABS in my 2000 Monte Carlo. I would really like to just use something like the distribution block down below, and a proportioning valve. The way that block is set up, I think I can get by with my current lines, judging by how it is set up. My question is, has anyone else tried something like this? I'm going to keep researching it and see what I can come up with, maybe a 97+ W-body came without ABS and I can rob some parts from one.

The distribution block

The one for the 05-06 gto

** I know what I am doing by ABS, I have a lot of reasons for removing it, and none of my other vehicles have it. Any other thread on this topic I have found online has turned into a fight over that so lets just put that aside :D

Curious over questioning reason.

Why?

I believe ABS became standard on most models into the 90`s BUT ive seen some very early 1st gens(Luminas) with an ABS badge which leads to think some came without BUT those were probably the very base models.

i THINK you could get some 2nd and 3rd gen impalas without ABS... if you go that route, you can probably get bolt-in everything.

Correct!

My Step cousin had a 2004 Monte without ABS.

It was an option on all 00-05 Impalas / Monte Carlo's.

You can walk into any parts store and order the standard master cylinder and the proportioning valve through a dealer if the parts stores don't have them.

It would be literally a 100% "Stock" swap for you.

I deleted my ABS on the 95 Vert. No room for the giant ABS block.

I've driven cars with and without ABS in the snow and on ice.

In snow and ice I prefer no ABS.

At highway speeds on dry pavement I'd probably want ABS.

I rarely keep the ABS on any of my cars.

There's a Master Cylinder for any NON-ABS 00-05 Imp / Monte. A bit expensive. I'd run to a scrap yard. It's not all too rare to find them without ABS.

That is exactly what I was hoping for. I was planning on just running a wilwood proportioning valve for the rear brakes. I'll see which ends up being cheaper, but the route you showed seems a lot cleaner.

all you really need to do is get a couple std SAE inverted flare Tee fittings and a bit of reflaring of lines and you can delete it for much less than a new master cylinder.

i got rid of the split diagonal system on HK's turbo regal for a F/R split but i reused the oem braided lines to allow for the master to easily be moved out of the way

works quite well

EDIT: i found a better pic of the plumbing, you can see the front Tee that feeds the LF and RF lines

i even mounted the proportioning valve inside the car right below the drivers right knee allowing for on the fly bias adjustment

and yes i did reuse the forward section of the oem line as it was in great shape compared to the back half of it, used the copper-nickle line, stuffs great

dont mind the two 10ga wires hanging down...this was while i was installing the additional relays to feed the Bosch 044 fuel pump
