Baddflash
I'm going to be swapping a 5-spd into my Lumi , I got a memcal from a 92' sunbird with 3.1L/5-spd. When I do the swap other than modding harness for tranny can I just switch this chip??? Or do I need the whole computer?? Also would the pedals/shifter from sunbird or cavi work??? Robby1870
the memcal from the Sunbird should work, since it was from a 3.1L/5spd. I dont know if the clutches are the same. I would think they would be, but Im not for sure
soccrplayrgtp
from what I have researched at the junkyard. they are mounted differently and is completely linked differently. So I vote no. unless you take em out and try it, nobody will ever know.
Baddflash
I got another one today from and 87' Celebrity Euro, I did'nt know they made those with manual. Anyway I just grabbed it cause 5spd cars are fairly rare. Even though it's a 2.8L and 5yrs older it uses the same socket design and same chip layout so I imagine it should fit, like was said "someone has to try" I know the 2.8L chip won't work without changing stuff I don't plan to use it on the 3.1.
