Need to know if its safe to weld a plate on the bottom and if its safe to reposition the top or should I replace the entire engine cradle.

Yes it's the left front, 2004 GP. Just wanting to know if I welded that would I have to worry about it cracking in the future. Sorry I didn't introduce myself. But I bought this 2004 GP GTP comp g for $1800 it was wrecked, it only needs the suspension, fender and door. Car has 99237 miles on it. I think I got a deal

It could be repaired successfully, I'm sure, so long as you are positive that the subframe is not bent or damaged elsewhere. just make sure whoever is doing the welding is positive that they are getting good penetration and that the holes are redrilled EXACTLY where they were. Its not the time for any cold welds or misdrilled holes or the car will never track right.

personally, the amount of work to get it fabricated, lined up and welded properly I'd sooner go get an aluminum subframe, swap that in and loose a few pounds off the front end.

Yeah I'm just gonna replace it, it's not much work and better to be safe about it.

Where is the post reply button instead of reply with quote, I'm on mobile version. Sorry I can overhaul this car but don't have much knowledge on computers lmao.

Its a third gen W so its already Aluminum. I am sure there damage elsewhere. I would get another cradle.
