dougielx
I broke this clip and I wonder if there is way to get the filter off now?
Night Fury
An Achieva is not a W body, it's an N body, but someone should still be able to answer that for ya
rich_e777
cut it off and replace it. The plastic part that was broken is part of the disconnecting mechanism. Cut the fuel filter and pick the rest of out of you lines, dont damage the lines or you`ll have a bigger job. You MIGHT and i mean MIGHT, be able to modify it enough to run just normal rubber vacuum lines with clamps and size adapters. Wont be able to tell you for sure unitl tomorrow when i can get under my Cutlass, not an Achieva but the setup and fuel filter look looks the same. Doubt theres many dedicated Nbody forums but i havent ever had to look. Rubber hose should be fine as some of the lines dealing with fuel and fuel vapors on my car are rubber and have been for 6 years and over 80k miles. Get ready for some flak for having a Cutlass Supremes` little brother on a w-body forum. Grand Am GT or Chevy Z24 cavalier forums would be closer to your car i believe. W body , N body all the same but less weight lol Around here, that's heresy. LOL. Though the setup does appear to be about the same...
