wingnut Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 can somebody please help me and tell me why my waterpumps keep cracking around the pulley on the front side of pump. The equipment we are talking about is a chevy 350 Quote
Night Fury Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 That is not an engine we are familiar with....... But if I had to guess, bolt torque numbers aren't to spec, or there's something behind one part of it or something. Chunk of gasket? pebble? boulder? Quote
RobertISaar Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 if it's cracking near the pulley, there must be some type of excessive pressure being put on it. overtight belt misaligned pulley(s) or the location where it's bolting to is an uneven surface, causing misalignment. Quote
ron350 Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 I think the OP is pulling your leg. Why else would he post a SBC question on this forum. This thread should be moved or removed. Quote
ShockTherapy Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 i'm going to say it was probably an innocent mispost, and as for possible causes, i'm going to say the same thing saar said. Quote
