AL
The main tire I am looking at is the Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads, I had them on my Comp G wheels and absolutely loved them... I was also looking at Michelin Hydroedges but they do not come in 225 60 16 Heres the tire rack link: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Assurance+TripleTred+All-Season&partnum=26HR6ATTAS&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&wtpackage=true They are the 6th highest in Uniform Tire Quality Grade out of 53, they are a little on the costly side but they perform excellent... The main reason I am looking is Brittany needs new tires on her car and I am going to mount up my tires on her car (two Uniroyal Tiger Paws with 7/32 and two Goodyear Viva 2s with 6/32 as her tires all have less than 3/32) The main thing I want is for my new tires to grip year round and handle anything I may put them through... If there is another tire I should consider, please post
White93z34
I love love love my Hydroedges, unfortunately they are now discontinued I have like 70,000+ on mine and they are still in good shape, have plenty more life in them too. Fehl tells me that the Defender replaces it, or maybe I'm wrong. I have a big problem owning Good-For-a-years, overpriced for the lackluster quality of them. Personal bias is all. WhatTheFehl
Michelin Defender does replace the Hydroedge. It is also an excellent tire. Consider the Nokian WR-G2. Very aggressive all season designed to compete with the Triple Tred and if you look at testing it outperformed the TripleTred in every way. I absolutely love my Yokohama AVID Ascends but I'm not convinced of their winter traction. I run aggressive snows in the winter so I dont care. White93z34
Good point. I used to run my hydroedges in the snow, they were "meh" I prefer dedicated snows for winter use.
19Cutlass94
Straight winter tires are the best for winter. But as an all around tire, I love Michelins. If you can afford them they are great and you can get 70,000+ miles out of them easy. Sent from my iPhone in some random spot of Texas. AL
I don't want to buy winter tires because when winter is over, I will need summer tires and it might not be in the budget, so spending more on a good year round tire will benefit me more in the long run, I also have my truck if I need 4x4 so the car won't see the really nasty days
WhatTheFehl
Michelins are the Cadillac. If you have the money you will always be happy. But that doesn't mean you can't spend a whole lot less and still get an excellent tire.
White93z34
Which is the exact reason I am against the "Good" Goodyears, you pay Michelin money for a inferior tire. I put some Hankook Optimo H727s on my G/Fs Toyota, I love them myself, and they were rather cheap too with great reviews. No idea how they do in the snow though, they are supposed to be OK but she has steelies and snow tires for winter.

Night Fury
I got Kumho Ecsta 4x's and like them so far. 1500 miles and they still have the little penis things
WhatTheFehl
Sumics are shitty shitty shitty garbage. The shittiest of the shitty Chinese imports. STAY AWAY. They also absolutely do not carry a mileage warranty, not sure why one is listed. Matrix I've never heard of Tiger Paw... meh. Good for the money Arctic Claws are what I run in the winter on the Outback. I like them for snow traction Advantage T/As... sorry, just not a fan of BFGoodrich. The Traction T/As on my dad's Grand Prix are ultra shitty and I in general don't care for BFG. Cooper CS4 Touring... seem like an alright tire. The company I work for doesn't deal in Coopers so I'm not familiar with them Goodyear Eagle GT... excellent choice if you want an expensive tire that isn't good at anything Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max... ehh, mid line touring all season. Meh. Grand Tour LSI... mediocre. Michelin Symmetry - discontinued. Also replaced with Defender Primacy MXV4 - excellent all season but is expensive and fast wearing Assurance ComfortTred Touring - I like them, I think they are nice tires, but for the money I'd find a nice set of Yokohama Ascends like I have... Michelin Energy LX4 - ehh, OEM quality, was used OEM on a lot of cars. Highly overpriced IMHO. TripleTred... excellent tire RSA Police - Expensive and fast wearing... I would avoid them. Eagle #1 NASCAR - have been discontinued for many years. I kinda wonder how they are getting them.
Night Fury
I was really not a fan of the 2 sets of BFGoodwrench T/As tires I had either.
