Timm
Hey guys, I know it's common on the 00-2005-ish years, but my 95 vert has a dead motor for the tach. I've checked the wiring and it's giving a good signal. It shows up in HP Tuners, and it worked for about a week after my engine swap. Now it just sits under 0, where it always does with the car off. So, has anyone serviced these things? Do they use the same stepper motors as the 00-05's? I don't really want to swap clusters, as I've already soldered in the LED's in this one, and I really prefer for mileage to be correct. Thank you!!! -Tim
RobertISaar
i highly doubt it has a stepper motor in it, but i also haven't opened up a 94-96 GP / 95-97 CS cluster before either.
white4d96
You need a Torx set, I forget the exact sizes, but the motors can just be unbolted and swapped. Take care to recalibrate the needles afterwards though.

Probably won't get around to it for a while, but it's for sure on the to-do list.
