gtp237
Hey I am putting a 95 3.1 in a 96 grand prix. I hit a few wiring snags.. First one is this plug. It goes right where the coolant temp sensor sits but the plug is totally different. Next one is this ORANGE connector, it sits near the egr. Theresa a couple other issues but lets start there. RobertISaar
coolant temp sensor: 96 engines used a single 3 wire coolant temp sensor, 95 and earlier used a 2 wire sensor for the ECM and a 1 wire sender for the dash. either get the one to match your harness or change the harness connector out for the one on the engine. gtp237
Alright thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Do have any ideas on the orange connector?
RobertISaar
what color of wires are going into it?
carkhz316
Just looking at the picture, the orange weather pack connector looks like it plugs into the ICM. There is a open plugin on the ICM that is begging for something to be plugged into it.

19Cutlass94
That orange connector looks like it goes into the alternator. But if its around the EGR, check the O2 sensor.
