m0sh_man Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 its leaking on the drivers side, looks like it may be behind the engine near the firewall or above the transmission somewhere. its actually spewing out, not just a drop or something, but id say a gallon every 1-2 minutes. anyone have a clue? matthew Quote
sonyman87 Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 Dont take this to heart b/c im probably wrong. not a fun job! so i have heard if its this. im not for sure but your heater lines that go to the core in your car heater sound busted. When did this start happenign was it gradual or just "Bam" all at once? Quote
Robby1870 Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 Have you seen a loss in power since this started? Quote
Vegeta Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 Heater core lines are right there...so thats a good guess. It could be the rubber hose between the throttlebody and metal line that runs around the front near the cam carrier. At the rate you are saying though, I think its the heater core. You can make it an easy job by bypassing the heater core. Depends on where you live as to if thats a good idea or not. Quote
m0sh_man Posted November 1, 2003 Author Report Posted November 1, 2003 i just got the car two weeks ago with a broken timing belt, so i dont know if it was gradual or not. matthew Quote
m0sh_man Posted November 1, 2003 Author Report Posted November 1, 2003 found the leak, i took the air box off and found it, its a metal line that plugs into a screw in piece on the lower intake it looks like, it had two clips on each side, ive seen this part on the older 3.1L and 2.8L alloy head pushrod motors. The 3.4L TDC engine is all new to me. matthew Quote

Anyway, Advance Autoparts sells a stock replacement made from actual metal, its like $9. Just take your old one in and they should be able to match it up Quote
