Does anyone have this kind of setup in there car..??

I'm in the process of having a 3.4 DOHC Turbo put into my 88 Fiero GT and was wondering if anyone here has this type of set up and how good does it run.. what kinda boost are you running and how much boost can a stock 3.4DOHC handle?? without blowing it up or hurting the engine?

Are there any performance tuning tips that you could share also.?

I'm in the process also of talking with GM reps to find out more on the original 3.4 DOHC that put out 275hp and how it was detuned before selling it to the public.

Mine will use a Haltech computer and custom built intake witha T3/T4 turbo connected to a Getrag 5-speed

I'm new to your forum and thought that you guys could shine some light on this subject..

Well thank you for letting me ramble on ... and thanks to all that answer.

A few guys on the board have a turbo 3.4. Do a search and you'll find lots of info on timq's 3.4 turbo monte. It's pretty badass! I don't know if anyone's put #'s in the 1/4 mile yet, but try a search for info on the whole setup. Should be badass tho in a fiero!!

yes it would

lots of hype about fiero's lately... ive only got to drive one in my life and it was a 4cyl. automatic, and it was the earlier body style so it was kinda built up false hopes before i drove it... :(

don't know how to post on this forum or i'd show you one kool Fiero GT.

I'm a drifter from the land of Pennocks Fiero Forum.. ( fiero.nl ) there you will find some of the baddest Fieros in the land.. It's too bad that you only rode in the one Fiero cause there a lot of fun when you swap out the motor for something faster, in my case a 3.4 DOHC with a Turbo (hope to be done soon).. but follow this link and you can see mine..

That is a pretty nice car you got there. Except the interior not a fan of it, but hey thats one nice car. Yea there is a pretty bad ass Fiero going around here its yellow, under body lights mint condition has the 2.8 with nos and two fire extinguishers in between the front seats. I saw it at the car show my car will be in next summer. I dont remember the power numbers but with out the nos they were pretty impressive.

well my interior by "Legos" was in the GT when i bought it.. in time that will change also "trust me" but it's a crowd pleaser at some cruises. I left it in there for now so that i don't fall asleep at the wheel..

TimG and myself built the turbo kit on his car. mine is still sitting in the garage. He is running 7psi intercooled. Other then his tranny slipping (was doing it before boost) it runs very very happy.

we used a Turbonetics T04E super 60 w/ a .71 ar. spools up perfectly. I plan on working my way up to 10psi on stock internals.. if it blows up eventually then i still have 2 other cars to rely on..

Kameo, that's one sweet Fiero you've got there..I might be getting a 88 sometime in the near future, no clue what I'll do with it(possibly parting it out being that it has been sitting for ~3yrs, might not have any rust on it(doesn't on the exterior anyway) being that it's way down south in GA...I'm going to be parting out quite a few cars in the months to come...it pays to ask about abandoned cars in peoples yards

they are running 5-8 lbs, none higher due to loss of traction in 2nd and tranny's turned into raw hamburger patty.

timg's wont shift above 6k rpm now, and he has to let off the throttle

doesn't matter, 'cuz you can't do to the DOHC what they had in the factory... there's no room for true headers, and you can't really just up and install VVT

in a Fiero i agree there is little or no room but i have heard the 3.4dohc motor makeing those little goatcarts run 11s with the 5 speed.. how much more do you want? its pretty rediculous at those speeds with that type of car its really small so any accident would prove fatal.

crash reports are really good for the Fiero, not that you'd want to wreck one but chance are good that you would live.. very good.. their space frame is really strong..

West Coast Fieros makes the Headers for this set up in a Fiero..

ahhh, true... I'd forgotten about them.... but are they true 100% headers? or the closest possible? I know in a W-body, without some body/frame work, 100% true headers don't fit
