Luke94vert Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Well learned an expensive lesson tonight. Lol. Make sure when your nephew is helping work on your car he doesnt set the scanner on the tire of the van. They flatten pretty good when you run them over with a g30. Lol. Such is life. Anyways it's time to upgrade. I am trying to decide what to get. I have a 91 cs,92 gp 94 cs 95 mc 97 cs 98 regal 99 ltz and a 00 mc. What would you guys suggest for scanning and data logging. Ideally something that will work on everything, but I Think that's a long shot. Just because I currently have a span of gen 1, 1.5, and 2. So ya. Suggestions are definitely appreciated. Thanks in advance. Luke. Quote
Garrett Powered Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 just got one myself. well a new one, I have a back up unit in case that happens . http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/74972-new-datalogger the cable I got will plug into OBD1 cars. I am sure if you get the right cable you can do them all with a laptop though. Quote
RobertISaar Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 correct, there are packages out there to interface something like an ELM327 that should work with all OBD2 applications. then just a single(assuming they all have 12 pin connectors) ALDL cable for the OBD1 stuff w/tunerpro and you're pretty much set for anything ~81-current.
