a.dailey
Ok I bought a freon recharge kit that comes with the dye in it I hooked it up with the a/c on full blast the can has a button on top of it however it says to hold upside down and straight up while pressing the button, which I did. I heard you can't hook it up wrong since it only fits on the one valve and not the other? High low sides is what i mean anyway after finishing recharging, the next morning my a/c kept going off and on when I turned it on on my dash if you push in the a/c button (with a snow flake on it) it kicks in otherwise it just blows outside air. well the darn thing just keeps blowing outside air, then blew a/c air back and forth it won't keep blowing the a/c air only. I can hear the compressor kick on and off when it does this. any ideas out here?? Thank you
a.dailey
Ps I had not had an issue prior to using recharge kit it was just warm air coming out on a/c
RobertISaar
sounds like you have a hell of a leak somewhere then. being an 06, it shouldn't be need charging unless it's leaked out a significant amount. i'd start looking around with that UV light, if it's like the V-5 systems the older cars used, it probably would be leaking right out of the middle body seal on the compressor. a.dailey
Just for verification isn't the larger line where you hook up the can of freon kit too? The one that's on top of smaller line which is warm and large line is cold? The large line is what the hose fits onto from the fitting on the can of freon Edited August 31, 2012 by a.dailey
RobertISaar
with the kits you can get at walmart/etc, they will only hook up to the low side line, the fitting on the high side is different(larger IIRC), so i really can't see you connecting to the wrong one. i would expect the larger one to be the low pressure side, it would help the system be more effective that way.
