joecutlass
So, the 95 3100 has a rod knock. Should I replace it with a 3100 or what are my other options? My gtp isn't done yet and I need this car done by Monday. My mechanic said he can.have this done by Tuesday the latest, but thats going in the 3100. Can I go 3400 on this obd 1.5 system? AL
If you need it back by Monday, I would just throw a 3100 back in
Garrett Powered
I drive around a 1988 GP with a 2005 impala 3400 every day. it runs on 8F for a turbo car and its N/A. TGP's never came with a 5 speed but it still runs great. the swap was done pretty much over a weekend. I remember following the thread before I bought the car. RobertISaar
a 3400 will run decently on the 94-95 3100 PCM. not great, but it shouldn't have too many problems. a LOT of people have just swapped and left it alone for years. joecutlass
Yea. Just installing another 3100 was easiest. It was completed on saturday night. Drove it sunday and the water pump went. Replaced that and now, its all good. I tore down the old engine and left just the block. Block is still good. I have to pull the oil pan and see what kind of damage there is on the crank.
