Disbass69
I figured out why the shifter let loose on my prix he put a piece of rubber tubing to hold the cable in place. I assume this is the wrong cable for the car then? Any other way to fix? its right under the steering column i could fix it the same way he did but any other ideas? or just get the right shift cable but I can't find any here's a video and some pics of the problem [video=youtube;SJoGrsrwdes]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJoGrsrwdes&feature=youtu.be
White93z34
that does not look like a factory cable... any chance you can get pictures of the end of it?
rich_e777
It looks like that piece of hose was meant to keep the cable from rubbing against that brace and those clamps were to keep the hose from moving. That washer in front of all that im not sure of, I`d get some more info from whoever did that job. Looks like its too loose for a factory cable. ss427
Shift cable definitely not original. You can tell because the thick metal end that gets clamped to the shifter body is very small in diameter on this cable. It should be identical in size to the one on the select cable. It appears they tried to build up the diameter with hose so it would clamp tight into the shifter body, under that clamp with the red 10mm bolt..quite a hack job.. I would suggest finding a replacement cable and putting some booger bushings in.
