Oilpatch197
Got a new radiator from AutoZone, at first they gave me the wrong radiator, got it home and saw it was different, went back and I didn't have to pay a dime more for the right radiator(which was $30 higher in price) So it comes with an accessory pack which only has a coolant level sensor omit plug, and two brass adapters for the transmission lines.... it did NOT come with the "quick disconnects" for the oil cooler lines.(the connector has a e-clip on it, you just push the lines in and the clip holds them into the adapter) So the only thing I have to swap out is the oil cooler line adapters. So my question is do I need thread sealant on the adapter threads when I screw it into the new rad? and should I "flush" the oil cooler/trans cooler tanks? Would I just use compressed air for this, or do I need to do something else. The radiator is well built and all that, but it is made in China, I just don't want to get metal into my oil or transmission.
rich17
Yes sealant on the threads and just a little brake clean and air to the oil cooler part
