justmike
on the back of the car, has anyone done it, how hard is it to remove ?? i want to get it painted as the black is kind of faded and dull looking,
carkhz316
Open the trunk, and look on the inside. There will be 4 or 6, 10mm nuts holding it on. They are easily seen and accessed through holes stamped into the inner trunklid structure.
MonteCarloDude
^ What he said. I swapped mine out for a Z34 cover, took all of 5 minutes.
3pt1lumina
What these guys said...simple to take off and just be sure you prep the surface before you paint so the new paint sticks and doesn't fisheye.
jman093
FWIW, You can buff/wax those things and make them really shine like new again.
carkhz316
It never seems to last though, and I tried every gunk out there at it never stayed dark and shiny for more than a few weeks at a time. I finally painted it and it looks awesome and it can be waxed with the rest of the car.
madbrad
They don't stay shiny no matter what you do. It's best to paint. I painted mine body colour(98 Lumina LTZ, burgundy that is)
