justmike Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 on the back of the car, has anyone done it, how hard is it to remove ?? i want to get it painted as the black is kind of faded and dull looking, Quote
carkhz316 Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Open the trunk, and look on the inside. There will be 4 or 6, 10mm nuts holding it on. They are easily seen and accessed through holes stamped into the inner trunklid structure. Quote
MonteCarloDude Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 ^ What he said. I swapped mine out for a Z34 cover, took all of 5 minutes. Quote
3pt1lumina Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 What these guys said...simple to take off and just be sure you prep the surface before you paint so the new paint sticks and doesn't fisheye. Quote
jman093 Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 FWIW, You can buff/wax those things and make them really shine like new again. Quote
carkhz316 Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 It never seems to last though, and I tried every gunk out there at it never stayed dark and shiny for more than a few weeks at a time. I finally painted it and it looks awesome and it can be waxed with the rest of the car. Quote
madbrad Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 They don't stay shiny no matter what you do. It's best to paint. I painted mine body colour(98 Lumina LTZ, burgundy that is) Quote
