89 grand prix se 2.8

4 year plan

Recommended Posts

Somehow I managed to produce a fatal error on my initial thread . http://s1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj613/slowgoing4/ This hopefully is the link to the first batch of pictures I took . Still learning , but I think I overloaded by experimenting uploading pics without knowing what I was doing . When I tried to undo my tie rod end with a heavy bar I learned something new . The tie rod will bend , and the rack housing can crack . New rack needed now , with new outer ends , ball joints , subframe bushings , 2.8 or 3.1 engine , just to name a few things . This may take a while

Nice project, I used to have an 88 SE the same color. Make sure to replace the power steering lines while you have it all apart.

Planning on buying a 93 Lumina 3.1 with 75k tomorrow . According to my calculations , this should fit quite nicely in my gp . If there is a reason I shouldnt buy this please let me know . PS lines are on my list now too , thanks

wrong motor. you need a 3.1 not a 3100.

wait, is the 93 lumina a sfi or mpfi?

I hope its a mpfi , as my sometimes flawed research says 99% of the 93s were mpfi . The ac was removed as it hadnt run for several years , with plans on replacing all seals and complete retrofitting to R134 . I have 8 hours before i drive 100 miles to get this car , as 500 for this sounds reasonable . heres the link for this , hoping this works, http://wichita.craigslist.org/pts/3148147590.html . thanks for the reply
