Oilpatch197
Does anyone rent these tools out? I'm pricing the strut cartridge tools as around $60 bucks. 3/4 of the cost of a single cartridge! I don't have that chunk change laying around. {edit found one that autozone rents} Edited July 14, 2012 by Oilpatch197

94 olds vert
When you rent you get your money back. I've done that several times with Autozone.
Gsxperience
When you rent you get your money back. I've done that several times with Autozone. I used there tool as well. It was $110 to rent IIRC. But you get it all back. Makes the job a snap though
oldmangrimes
Don't pay $60. I bought mine for around $40 on sale. But renting is cheaper if you don't mind the hassle. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00063WO96/ref=asc_df_B00063WO962093740?tag=thefind0032302-20&creative=395261&creativeASIN=B00063WO96&linkCode=asn
rockfangd
I own the tool. Make sure you tighten the nut tight. . I had a situation with my cutlass awhile ago. About 2 years after replacing the strut cartridges the driver side nut pulled out of the spindle letting the front end bounce excessively. What a noise it made. I had to replace the entire knuckle assembly with strut and all. I dont know if the nut worked loose over time or what but it was not fun to fix. My tool is by stinger. Works extremely well and fits perfect
