lumifan Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Hey Guys, I'm kind of shocked that it has come to this. But does anyone know where to get a new oil pan for a 97 chev lumina ls 3.1L -- Auto zone, amazon, and other sources only seem to have it for the 3.4 L engine or older & newer luminas. I know parts are generally interchangeable however most are saying "this will not fit your vehicle. The only 2 options at the moment, going to the GM dealer-- $189 for the pan(way too expensive) , or $75 used from a local scrap yard (which could be in worse shape then mine). Maybe someone here has changed theirs and got one from a 3rd party source , manufacturers like Spectra or Dorman? that's my next move.. any advice appreciated! cheers Quote
GP1138 Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 An oil pan from a junkyard should be fairly foolproof. I can't imagine not being able to eyeball something like that after it's cleaned and taken off and say it's better than what you have. Just ask to see it once it's removed. Quote
rich17 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Why do you need one if I may ask? And I dont think they are available aftermarket. Quote
