Mizouse
http://www.lindertech.com/newsletters/nwk11~02.pdf Well, it happened again. Another plugged fuel injector. At least thats my guess. It's doing the same thing again, check engine light and shaking, rough idle and driving. Go to page 3 of the link, it talks about this problem, but to sumarize, the injectors were designed with a stamped spray tip to prevent dribbling and help with emissions, but it seems they are prone to clogging (look at me, this is the second time). So fuck me, looks like they are getting replaced this time, damnit. Hope anyone else out there might read this and get theirs checked before its too late. Mizouse
oh yeah, forgot to ask, the shop already has the car. Does anyone know what a new set of injectors will cost me (+labor?) ? Thanks
sonyman87
that explaines my problem to the point with the fuel injectors.. at when left sitting for a while.. its starts but has a ruff idle. sounds like 4 of the 6 cylanders are firing but no backfire, it sounds like a 350 at 500rpms when im at 1000rpm. It sounds mean as hell but i know its not good. after a breef warmup period its all fine and away i go. I have heard accell fuel injectors are a good choice to go with and much cheeper

Vegeta
Dear god, do NOT get higher output injectors. It will just cause problems unless you reprogram the computer and actually need them. New injectors are incredibly expensive. Just send a set to RCengineering or another place that can clean and flowmatch them. Its cheaper than new injectors...unless you find a good deal somewhere. Mizouse
Just send a set to RCengineering or another place that can clean and flowmatch them. Its cheaper than new injectors... Yeah, that would be ideal, but I can't really afford to not have a car for more than about a day or so. I wish I could get off easy on this one, but I just don't see it happening. I'm almost hoping its something stupid like sugar in the gas tank just so I can claim it as vandalism on insurance and they can pay for it. Ugh, this bites. Anyone had new injectors put on? How much is this going to run me?
cutlassdude96
http://rockauto.com has them for $82.79 for 1 Injector $496.74 for all 6 http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ $63.73 for 1, $382.38 + $76.48 sh for 6 GM part # 17113572
Mizouse
Ugh, 9am and the shop just called. Exactly what I thought it was, plugged injector. Getting all of them replaced this time. Suprisingly, it was much cheaper than I thought it was going to be. It would have been something like $340 to do just one and $480 to do them all. If it is the 2nd time that your fuel injectors getting clogged up then you wonder where are these debris coming from? It's probably your fuel pump strainer which might be already broken to pieces and thus allowing other debris to go into the fuel injector along with the bits of broken fuel pump strainer. Mizouse
I don't think its the strainer. I'm not sure what it would be. The fuel pump is new, and the last time it happened they flushed and checked the entire system, so I'm not really sure what it is, maybe just some kind of buildup.
