GRANDFURY
Is the intake manifold gasket on a 89 2.8 GP around the Plenum or is it at the back of throttle body? Very stupid question ......I know but I don't know where it is
Redfox340
It's actually below the plenum. The order is as follows - top of motor - * plenum (upper intake manifold) * plenum gasket * lower intake manifold * lower intake gasket * heads - engine block - - Erik
GRANDFURY
So how would I check it for leaks I know to spray carb cleaner around the seal to see if idle changes but wheres is the gasket if it's that far down?
Robby1870
You cant see the lower intake gasket from the top of the motor. You have to take the lower intake off to see the gasket, which means the plenum and a number of other things must come off too. There's no real way to test it.
