yorxs
Tried the search but couldn't find anyone talking about their experience removing a PS pump on an LQ1. I know eveything else on the engine is a major pain in the ass, so I am wondering if you guys feel this is your averge PS pump replacment or a nightmare? GOT2B GM
It's really easy , there's three 13mm bolts that you access through the holes in the pulley of the PS pump. You'll need to remove the serpentine belt so you'll be able to index the pulley so the holes line up with the bolts.
94 olds vert
You might also want to consider replacing the power steering lines as those like to collapse.
yorxs
WooHoo! So I don't have to use a pulley remover inside the engine bay? I guess thats a given since its a transverse mounted engine. Might be my first easy thing, it was seeming like I was in front wheel drive hell.
Red Nightmare
Yeah removing the pump is one of the few easy tasks, however, have you tried to remove the pulley with the pump in the car? Depending on the procedure, you might not even have to remove the pump at all. Try to be careful; with the pressure line though, it is the metal one coming out of the pump (the other one is the return and probably is just connected by a rubber hose) but yeah the pressure one may be tight and could collapse in the process
