are the 1.5 springs naturally little lower? I was thinking of replacing my front springs from the yard to match my rear sag.

We're not talking stock gen 1.5 springs. We're talking aftermarket springs for a gen 1.5 meant to lower it to begin with. Only the front springs will fit. The rear suspension is the main reason it's designated as gen 1.5.

Edit: Like these: http://www.andysautosport.com/chevrolet/1995_1999_monte_carlo/suspension/lowering_springs/rk_sport/rksp00037943.html

If you got the kit, you could only use the front springs. The Cutlass and Gen 1.5's use a different rear suspension set up (Gen 1.5's use 2 coil springs, while gen 1's use a single transverse fiberglass leafspring)

Gen 1.5 cars:

1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

1995-2001 Chevrolet Lumina

Gen 1 cars:

1988-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

1988-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix

1988-1996 Buick Regal

1990-1994 Chevrolet Lumina
