19Cutlass94
Look for front springs from a gen 1.5 monte.
pshojo
will the 1.5 gen lower the front end?
19Cutlass94
The gen 1.5 monte and the cutlass supremes have the same front end. But to answer your question, yes.
skitchin
Where should I look to get replacement front springs? Summitracing and car-stuff.com don't seem to have front springs, just struts. Did find something on jcwhitney, but never bought from them so not sure how accurate their w-body catalog is: http://www.jcwhitney.com/coil-springs/p3039828.jcwx?skuId=2276724&filterid=d1833y1995j1&mc=

pshojo
are the 1.5 springs naturally little lower? I was thinking of replacing my front springs from the yard to match my rear sag.
Z34guy
are the 1.5 springs naturally little lower? I was thinking of replacing my front springs from the yard to match my rear sag. We're not talking stock gen 1.5 springs. We're talking aftermarket springs for a gen 1.5 meant to lower it to begin with. Only the front springs will fit. The rear suspension is the main reason it's designated as gen 1.5. Edit: Like these: http://www.andysautosport.com/chevrolet/1995_1999_monte_carlo/suspension/lowering_springs/rk_sport/rksp00037943.html If you got the kit, you could only use the front springs. The Cutlass and Gen 1.5's use a different rear suspension set up (Gen 1.5's use 2 coil springs, while gen 1's use a single transverse fiberglass leafspring) Gen 1.5 cars: 1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1995-2001 Chevrolet Lumina Gen 1 cars: 1988-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1988-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix 1988-1996 Buick Regal 1990-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Edited May 16, 2012 by Z34guy
