Another dumb water pump question

Ok, so the little bit of hair I had is now gone...

I had had the power steering pump and rack replaced, and a week later the waterpump went. So I replaced it. And the new one went in ... 5 MINUTES!!! WTF?!?! I replaced it, and the new (THIRD!) one started making noise.

The only problem I could find was the belt seemed WAY too tight, so I loosened the tensioner a smidge  and now, except for the belt noise when I start it, it's working.

Could it be the power steering pump?? The Tensioner?? The nut that keeps screwing up his own car???

I'm more used to older engines, so I might be a little too hard on a newer car (Real men don't need torque wrenches! That feels like 40 lbs!) but unless theres another problem lurking somewhere, I don't see why this is happening.

Take your belt off and spin all your pulleys by hand. See if one of them is bent. If the belt is pulling on the water pump too much one way it could be the problem.
