88red4cyl
My wife hit a turtle the other day driving home from work.. She thought she had missed it, but apparently it caught the heat shield for the gas tank.. It pulled both the plastic fasteners out of the bottom, and bent the shield pretty good, and I discovered it today when she complained of a "tire rubbing sound" (it was dragging the ground).. I got it straightened back out pretty good, and got one fastener in, but the other is broken.. The fastener on the driver side of the car had the mounting area snap off (the tank is plastic), so now there is nothing for that fastener to go into.. I zip-tied it to hold it up, but it is rattling over bumps like that... Is there any way to attach a new bracket to the fuel tank? alec_b
Nope. Either use something a little stronger than a zip-tie (mechanics wire comes to mind), or replace the tank.
