base93lumina
Can someone tell my why my front brakes moan if i hold the the brake a lil while backing up? It doesnt do it any other time, just backing up. Is there something that causes this in these cars? I remember my 95 did it too.
Schurkey
Pads loose in the caliper? Caliper bracket bolts loose? (the ones with the big spacer)

It's nothing to worry about.
meltboy1
from my experience it's a sign the pads are going bad.
rich17
It's the brakes. Disc brakes just do that sometimes. It's nothing to worry about. This. Theyre use to going in one direction. When going to opposite then they move funny and make noise. I wouldnt worry. If you want it gone then I'd pull the pads and grease the back of both pads and the pins and the channels where they sit in.

brake
My 96 Grand Prix has been doing the same thing, but recently it started making the noise in forward gears when not applying the brakes - I went around to all corners to feel the wheels and see if there's any more heat on the side that's squeaking. There wasn't, but I found a neat little gouge in my rotor the entire way around. The sound comes and goes now and only shows up after driving for a while - never after a cold start. Oh well, I bought new pads and I can machine the rotors myself. Not much of a point to that story other than keep an eye on them.
