rich17 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Welp my elderly neighbor boght this thing brand new. Mustve been one of the first with a build date of 6/94. Its a Z35 but even has drums.. BEen having intermittent surging problems. I did the ole carb clean spray and found the egr gaskets were leaking. So yesterday i did them, the upper, and both VC's. But still has the problem. No codes pop up either. Someone suggested TPS but without the SES light being on I am a little hesitant. Any suggestions other than swapping in a 3800? lol Quote
RobertISaar Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 surging could be from the MAF or IAC acting up. Quote
3pt1lumina Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Lower intake leak X2, just went through this with my dad's 95 LQ1 in his Z34. Replaced the IAC/TPS and checked all vacuum. Then the car started leaking coolant from the lower intakes and then it became real obvious what the issue was. Replaced and now it runs mint. Quote
AMP Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 My 95 MC z34 has drums too Ill have to look and see when it was built Quote
RobertISaar Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 all 95 Z34s had drums. 96 is when disks started coming into the 1.5s. Quote
