Breakdown Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Please don't comment on how dirty the cars and tires are, I'm well aware of that fact. What do you think about the look on both cars. Thinking of getting smaller 45 profile fronts for both (currently 55). Quote
tornado_735 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I think those wheels look great on both cars. Hell, they'd look good on a shopping cart. If you go lower profile, you're going to have to fix that wheel gap. Quote
jeremy Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 The look better on the 2gen....and 245/45/18 tires are a must. Quote
gp1991 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 yeah i think they look great on both cars Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 they stick in WAY to much on a 1st gen imho. Quote
Breakdown Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 The look better on the 2gen....and 245/45/18 tires are a must. Those won't fit. Quote
AL Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 18 inch tires dont fit on 17 inch rims unfortunately Quote
jeremy Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 18 inch tires dont fit on 17 inch rims unfortunately What happened to the 18s? Quote
Breakdown Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 What happened to the 18s? Washed them in the washing machine, dried them in the dryer. They shrunk . . . and now I need a new washing machine & dryer. LOOK CLOSER!! Quote
Breakdown Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Thanks for a real answer. I'm trying to see how many notice. I like the staggered-look. 18's on the back and 17's on the front, especially on AMY, obviously this will require matching tires. 245/18R40 ad 245/17R45's, but I like the look I wanted to see how many picked up on the fact that the rims don't match. I would think it would look extremely subtle. Quote
RobertISaar Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 i was wondering why the front wheels had a taller sidewall.... Quote
Breakdown Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 They have a much bigger overall circumferance as well: I'm thinking if I get me some 245/45R17's (just realized that I had the sizes all backwards), you won't see as much of a difference. Overall Diameter: 18 (current tires): 25.71in 17 (proposed tires): 25.68in 17 (current tires): 26.74in basically chop 1/2 in of sidewall off of the tires and that'll be the look. Quote
Breakdown Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 Its dumb. Haterz gonna hate!! Quote
Psych0matt Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 I think they look better on the red car (I don't care if they have names) Quote
Breakdown Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 I think they look better on the red car (I don't care if they have names) My head hurts. The red one is AMY. Quote
Psych0matt Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Ok, then I think they look better on the red car Quote
Garrett Powered Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 they stick in WAY to much on a 1st gen imho. only if you put them on a 1st gen with a body kit. my 88 they fit great. I thought they looked like ass on my red tgp though. when I had my eagle 18s on that car. Quote
runt Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 18's on the 2nd gen. Please don't stagger the sizes. Quote
Breakdown Posted March 20, 2012 Author Report Posted March 20, 2012 Its dumb. Perhaps selling 9 x-laces when you have 12 is dumb too. (Sorry Nunzi I had to sneak that in there) I was just looking at this as a unique opportunity to because usually you don't have two very similar sizes of the exact same rim. Plus it's something unique that pretty much no one has done before. The most expensive rim package for the G35 coupes has 18's on the front and 19's on the back, and I like the look (I realize that it's actually a RWD car). We'll see how things go on the tire quoting front before a final decision is made. Quote
