C-REX Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I see now that u can put a single turbo on a 3.1L but can u fit a dual turbo set up on and what hp gain would u achive. Quote
gp90se Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 no, its hard 2 get 1 turbo with intercooler in there, stick 2 one turbo and your go, no more, no less Quote
GrandPrix34 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 i agree, fabricating one turbo install is challenging enough, but two? Might as well build a rocket ship It IS POSSIBLE....but for the time and effort it would be more efficient if you got a LARGER intercooler as well as the turbo to offset the diff to running twin's on there.... wow, i sounded smart! hazmatic Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 u may have sounded smart but ur still a complete fuckin idiot j/k dont u need a dual t/b to run a twin turbo??? Quote
hazmatic Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 im not sure but im sure someone does Quote

hazmatic Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 im not a fuckin phost whore but i am a sex whore but i do member way back someon tellin me u needed a dual t/b to run a twin turbo but i guess they wzu wrong Quote
C-REX Posted October 26, 2003 Author Report Posted October 26, 2003 All u do is remove the cross over pipe and mount one turbo one one side and the the left over pipe and fabericate a down pipe for the left bank exhaust. I going to use 2 mitish lancer turbos. But the thing with one big turbo is all the turbo lag how would u fix that? i now that GARRETT TB2521 would work. or this shit heads sysytem for a fiero http://www.turbochargerpower.com/turbo.html http://www.design1systems.com Quote

Since the turbo's inertia is greater than two smaller units, you can decrease turbo lag by: * getting lighter, stronger parts (flywheel, crank / pulley, etc.) * using NOS to accelerate the turbine faster with less spool time * or use a smaller turbocharger and better thermodynamic and inter-cooling properties to get solid boost. - Erik Quote

Why would you want to do this.. you can get over 14psi out of the stock tgp turbo with vertualy no lag to begin with. i dont know who but supposivly someone in springfield has their tgp running 13's off the stock turbo.. motor is not obiously stock though. boostnawd Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 for big power one single > twins. just ask the supra boys who ditch their tt setups in favour of a big single. as for the issue of lag, new ceramic bearing turbos have come along way. It's now possible to get a big turbo capable of making a lot of power with the lag of a much smaller turbo. Quote
