can you tell if your intake gaskets have been replaced

Can you tell if your intake manifold gaskets have been replaced before you open the motor up? I'm putting new lifters in and would love to be able to reuse the gasket if it's the updated type. My motor has 162k on it, which is after the intake gaskets usually let go as I understand it?

The car has been well cared for but I have no idea if the gaskets have been touched.

Is there any way to tell from the way the gasket material sticking out the sides looks?

Seeing how you`ve been doing alot of work on your car these last few months i`d just go for a new one. Someone told me once you can tell by the color sometimes but i know when ppl clean their engine bays it can clean up the exposed part of a gasket/seal but internally it could be shit. Its good your fluids are strangers those two dont ever need to meet but with you doing some major surgury i`d just get new gaskets all the way around. Then you wont have to worrry when you get the engine back together about a weak point somewhere. What color is the gasket? I think at some point ones that where orange might have been in blue as well. I had to change my valve cover gaskets but did it about a year apart and ive got a orange one on the front and blue one on the back. The OEM ones where black i do know that so i guess if its not black they have probably been messed with before.

Those gaskets are not meant to be reused. Say they were 2 months old and you had to tear the engine apart they should not be reused. For the amount of labour a 3100 LIM job is its not worth it to take a chance like that anyhow.
