brake
Depends on how good you are with a welder.

RobertISaar
considering you can mount a shaft driven roots supercharger in the same location, it's certainly possible.
digitaloutsider
Just curiously, why do you need a second alternator?

RobertISaar
to answer the other question: yes, make a splash shield. all(or at least most) LQ1s have them, and they mount at roughly the same height.

55trucker
You mean....do this? It's a common mod for Fiero owners who drop in a 3400 engine. This is one I did two years ago. No reason why it can't work in a W body, but, you'll need to find a long belt so as to drive both alternators simultaneously. The mounting bracket is a reworked item pulled from a mid 90's 3100 A/C equipped.

alec_b
He won't need a longer belt, he'll need a shorter one. The alt. pulley is way smaller than the A/C pulley is.
slick
Just go for 4 alternators. Hell, I've seen 8 in a chevy van.

I was making reference to the *modded* swap I had put together.
