buzzing sound when car is running

Just like the title say, getting a really annoying buzzing sound from the radio. I just discovered today, that I only hear it when the car is running. Any idea what that could be, and/or how to get rid of it?

The only experience i have had with this problem included increase and decrease of pitch. something inside of the radio must not have been wired correctly because when i got a new one from the junk yard, there was no more buzzing sound. i did open up the radio but found nothing that looked out of place. If anything you could try to go get a new old radio at the yard, relatively cheap.

when i had my amp hooked up for the first time it did this, only because my one set of imputs were bad on it, just change your headunit or anything?

Yes, I had to replace the radio/control "pod" because the volume button was so worn out that "up" side did not work anymore. It buzzed with both the original pod and this new(er) pod.

Does it buzz on just the radio or tape/cd as well?

sounds like a ground loop and you are picking up interference from the motor try replacing the ground on your head unit and all your speakers should fix it
