motodh1983
Ok new to the W body scene but my wife just inherited a very special and dear 97 Olds Cutlass Supreme SL white hardtop (was fathers, died unexpectingly), with 169K on the dash and a very small coolant leak into the oil. But thats not the vehicle Im asking for, I myself bought a 97 Cutlass Supreme black hardtop with 149K on the dash cause I thought the white 1 was a cool car but I have a lil time on my hands and money isn't scarce so Im wondering if anyone has heard of a 3.8L GTP surpercharged engine and trans being dropped in place of the lil 3.1L 90 degree v6?? Any info or sources or starting points would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
RobertISaar
the 3.1 (actually a 3100) is a 60 degree V6 and completely different from a 3800.... that being said, it's been done many times before, with many threads about that very subject. welcome to the forum. Z34guy
^^^ This. That engine is the slut of the GM world. Oh look. Here it it RWD. (Holden Commodore) Here it is in a Fiero. Cavalier. Hell for that matter, here's a 3400 Cavalier. This engine is the slut of the engine swap world. If you can get the damned thing in a Cavalier, a swap into an older W-body should be more straightforward.
