I got a wiring harness from Brianteel and im in the middle of installing the harness on the engine. I got 98% of the harness installed today but had a few plugs I cannot find a home for.

This one is down near the back of the trans near the flat connector on the transmission.

these two are near the round plug on the top of the transmission. I can't find any open holes for these plugs but i must be missing it!

thank you!

You forget to plug in your NSS/Range Switch?

Another looks like it's for the cruise. And IIRC the connector that goes down to the downstream O2 sensor is right in that area too.

is the NSS/ range switch the white one I assume? where does that plug in? it doesn't look like there are 2 pluigs back there. I thought the white plug might be for a power steering pressure switch but it doesn't look anything like the one that is on my car!

Top pic looks like downstream O2, middle pic is fuel tank evap-not used on your swap, last pic looks

like cruise servo.

Cool. The downstreem o2 has been re-wired and is really long so I know it's not that.

The top one is the Neutral Safety Switch / Range Sensor Connector. Searched around Rockauto till i found the connector. Comparing the 2 switches from a 98 MC and a 2003 GTP the 2003 GTP does not have the second harness which is pictured above so it must sit idle and not plug into anything. This appears to be an 03 only as an 02 GTP has the 2 plugs as per Rockauto. Hope this works!!!

For the cruise would I not just use the cruise from the car and not the 98/99 monte? if yes, that elimnates the need for the bottom two but still need to see what the white one is for.

Thanks for help!!

So, the trans is from a 2003? 03 has an "internal mode switch" so no NSS/Range switch external on the

shift lever. Using the 99 Monte harness, unless modified, without the range switch/nss will cause a no shift

condition (will not shift from 1st gear).

It will work, but you'll have to switch a few of the pins on the connector, and you will have to use an 03 programmed PCM.

Any idea what wires need to be repinned? I'd like to repin before i drop motor in this weekend. Or point me in the right direction to wiring diagrams? Glad i asked this guys! thanks for the help thus far!!!

I dug up the old thread:

I wasn't able to find a pinout diagram yet. Once you get that diagram, you'll know what pins to move where.

Just to make 100% sure, you do have 2003 programming on your PCM, right?

the white one is the range selector. just go buy one they are cheap, i think they are right about the other 2 but without seeing the rest of the harness in relation to the plugs.

The bottom two are correct from what I can tell. The range selector is what worries. Can I use the switch from a 98-02 gtp? And avoid wiring or will that cause more issues than re wiring? I'll read those threads. Thanks guys

Yea it is an 03 PCM I have and was clear with Ryan from gmtuners that it was and 03 trans. Learned from your issues extreme

What about this range selector? I don't think I have one...

Do you know if bob re-wired the 7 pin plug? It appears the links you posted was more about using and 03 trans with a non 03 PCM but since we both have 03 trans and PCM wiring in that area should be the same. Hope bob chimes in. Thanks for all help everyone!

Bob did rewire the plug. I know this for a fact. I ran the 03 pcm because the trans would slip off the line in 1st gear every time.

Good info to know.

I did a Series 3 swap in a 95 Cutlass with a 99 PCM and harness. I had to add the range switch and rewire using the larger range switch

connector and trans connector.

Do you happen to have pinouts available?

I used alldata at the time (about 3 years ago) and don't have access to it anymore. Sold the car

shortly after.

I can't remember what exactly I did to make it work. I do remember splicing wires from the larger

NSS/range connector to wires on the trans connector but I'm at a loss to what went where.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Anybody have wiring diagrams for a 98-99 monte NSs switch and an 03 gtp NSS switch?
