98 intrigue Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 Hi all, I am having tranny problems with 86000 miles, mostly highway and some brutal city miles. City is hilly as hell. There are 2 symtoms; Slipping in 1st when I start from a full stop. I am pretty easy on the pedal. Learn that from years of driving on snow and ice. I have no way to detect slips in 2nd or 3rd, etc. Shutter when I stomp on the gas from a full stop. I did this with adn without the traction control. The shutter last about a sec or 2 at most. Here is the "what did I do to my car" list. The slipping appears after changing the tranny fluid twice. A can of stuff was added to try to get rid of the slip. The shutter also appears soon after. Maybe I killed the tranny by driving high speed for long duration. 80-90mph. Nice car, too bad the end is near. Hate to have to buy an import. Quote

98 intrigue Posted October 26, 2003 Author Report Posted October 26, 2003 Thanks 4spd Can any of the following cause line restriction which contribute to low line pressure? Installation of a tranny cooler? Debris in any of the assorted valves in the tranny? I have never look into a transaxle unit before. So any detail incite will be most welcome. Quote
