RUNDLC
I am considering having the cams re-timed and I have not done this. I would like to get an idea of what the cost may be to do it? Reason for this is when the new motor was installed we couldn't get it to start, a friend said we could verify and re-time the cams, we did still no start. After a few months of setting we figured out the crank sensor wires were crossed, put them back and bam she started. Even though it starts lacks any power at all and now my friend is not able to help. I need an experienced person to do this so I can get this car sold. I am in n. cali near Sac Thanks

Addicted To Boost
It's not hard to do actually. I just did this on my 91 GTP and know how it's done. Do you have a shop manual for it?
slick
z34nut is in that general area of California. PM him, IIRC he works on cars for a living.
RUNDLC
@addicted, Yes I do have a manual just didn't feel like teaching myself how to do it, however since I am not finding too much help I am going to have to just jump in and pray I don't screw something up. @slick I sent him a pm but have not heard back as of yet. Thanks RUNDLC
z34Phoenix
north of 600? try north of $1000. years ago when i had a warrenty GM charged the warrenty company 2100 for a full timing belt job and another 900 in misc parts for other repairs. i didnt care cause i just had a $100 copay on it. was pretty much a new engine lol had it done at like 105,000 miles and the belt lasted until the timing drive chain broke at 225,000 miles. belt still was tight and looked great... was sad to have that engine go. timg
A decade ago, it was over $1k if not $1500 to replace the timing belt and retime the cams. You can do it yourself for not much money. Tim
