Throttle body cleaning

Ok, I was looking at the throttle body cleaner I normally use (the kind where you leave the engine running), and it specifically says to NOT use on turbos and diesels. But how come? If it's sprayed through the throttle body, it's going to be burned off long before it hits the turbo. And if it's not a good idea to use this, then what do you use for this purpose?

I really cant answer any questions about the whole throttle body cleaning but i do have a question about thorttle bodies! I was wondering if there is anyone who makes a bigger one for the TGP??? Or am i on my own??? I am sure that some people have done it on their own or had someone do it for them but i thought i would ask. Thanks.

So are you saying that removing the throttle is the only solution? That would suck, because I don't have enough time to be doing that right now and I'd like to get this thing running correctly.

Yeah, I have heard of people porting their own throttle bodies. What tool can I use to do this?? I am imagining some type of grinder but not quite sure what??? With the TGP can i just take the upper intake pipe off and have the throttle body and throttle plate exposed and do it like that? or do i have to take more off??? I am just trying to see how easy of a job this is.

The throttle body will have a much less dramatic affect on the performance of a turbocharged car than on an NA one. "Boring" your own throttle body is a precise operation, and you would need a bigger throttle plate too. You could "port match" it of sorts, but not sure how much gain you would really see.

Hmmm sounds like there is a chance that I could do more damage then actual good. For now I will leave it alone LoL. But i am still interested in a bigger throttle body i could actually buy, if anyone has used one on the TGP let me know.

The TGP TB is the same as any 3.1/2.8 FWD Motor. The only problem you may have with some larger ones is they change to a round shape instead of oval. So the upper IC pipe won't match up very well.

yeah could be a problem but...when i did my intercooler i was going to change that pipe to a bigger size, and just have the end be round, and not oval. So it could work, I think. LoL. I will give it my best shot and let all u guys know if it works out.
