BrianK82 Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Getting ready to do the timing belt on the Cutlass due to a rattling idler pulley. I purchased a new belt, two new idlers, a tensioner, and the hydraulic actuator new from the dealer. My question is in regards to the hydraulic actuator. The ball tip is retracted and a pin in place. I am assuming the unit is already full of oil when shipped?? I don't want to pull the plug to find out, but I don't want to install it and have the belt jump due to lack of tension. Anyone buy one new before that can help me out here? Thanks. Quote
jman093 Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Yeah once everything is installed and in time just pull the pin out. You can always recompress it though and stick a pin in it if you need to redo something. Quote
