92EuroScott Posted January 4, 2012 Report Share Posted January 4, 2012 So Christmas day the battery in my car was dead, thought maybe the lights got left on in the car, so i jumped it and went on my way, about 2 hours after getting home It was dead again. I eventually discovered that the dash lights don't shut off after a short time like they used to, they just stay on. The only way to get them to shut off is to slam the door or tap the dash, which causes enough shock to some how turn them off. I do have a remote starter, not sure if that can cause it or not. White93z34 Posted January 4, 2012 Report Share Posted January 4, 2012 it could be, disconnect the brain and see if that makes it stop... are your parking lights staying on too? try flicking the headlight switch, I've never heard of one going bad but that is what controls that stupid 30 second delay thing so perhaps that is to blame as well.
