brake
My car is sagging in the rear and I don't really feel like fucking around with the struts and mounts and any of that poison to replace everything piece by piece. What are your thoughts on quick struts? I was pissed that I couldn't get any for the front end of this car (96 GP SE tudor) but I see they're available for the rear. I don't do any wild driving so I don't really need anything more than stock replacement parts. Do they come with coils already installed? I've heard of some quick struts that didn't but that seems to defeat the purpose.
xtremerevolution
Before you go straight to struts, which could definitely cause this issue, have you checked to see if your monoleaf pads are worn or even there anymore? Have you checked to see if perhaps your monoleaf is broken? If any of the above has happened, replacing your struts won't fix this issue. BTW, there are no quickstruts because there's a lateral leaf spring, not a coil spring.

I know SFA about the suspension in these cars....the only things I've worked on up until this point have had shocks and coil springs. At the ends of the leaf spring, there should be a hard rubber or plastic puck. If there isn't one, it means that it wore away some time ago and you need to put a new one in. Its a moog part, I forget the exact name. Adding that isolator will increase your rear ride height by a good 3/4". brake
It's just that easy eh? Thanks, man.
94 olds vert
The monoleaf isolator pad you can pick up at most local parts stores. Get the white plastic ones. They won't wear out like the factory rubber pads. It shouldn't cost you more than 20 dollars for the parts. They are pretty easy to replace. I can't really visualize the rear suspension of this thing from underneath. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the rear suspension on these cars? I have a feeling the R&R procedure will jump out at me when I see it.

brake
actually found a couple of pics of my car on the lift. looks like one of the isolators is intact but the other is either missing or fucked.
brake
Could the car sagging on one side as a result of the bad/missing spring pad be a potential cause of my uneven tire wear on the rear drivers side tire? Got a wear strip on the inside edge (you can see it actually) Edited December 29, 2011 by brake

Got a wear strip on the inside edge (you can see it actually) I don't think it would cause that big of a tire wear. Have the pressure checked, and have a firestone place do a free alignment check. When was the last time you had them rotated? The pad on the left needs replacing, if there even is one left.
brake
yeah I'm gonna replace both of 'em. the pads, that is. Haven't had them rotated in forever - I bought the car within the past year and the tires were fairly recent. They've been in the same place ever since. Pressure is fine but it was a touch low in that corner when I last filled them. I just picked up a set of winter tires for the rear - Tires on the front are still good. I'm gonna change 'em as soon as I get the chance (I can mount/balance em myself at school but we don't go back until next week.)
