hannibal
I havent had a chance to look in tje motor too much. Bought it yesterday. Picked it up no oil leaks nothing. Drive it 100 miles home and the bottom of the car is coated. Left a deceny puddle after 4 hours jn the garage. I got to cgeck the O ring, but I dohbt thats ut. Lokks like its coming from the drivets side by the fire wall. After a 6 year break from W body's you though I would have learned. I really miss my quad 4 5spd international right about now. Engine bay looked soo empty ckmpared to this monster.

chadz34
Rear valve cover gasket? If the underneath of the car is soaked with oil as bad as it seems, I wouldn't move the car until you can pinpoint the leak. If O-ring is fine, my only guess would be the rear valve cover gasket. It would be the only thing that could leak that badly other than a loose oil filter.
hannibal
I'm going to look at it tonight. From reading i need to look at the sensor by oil filter as well. So I'll check valve cover and sensor tonight. I have never been under one of these. Guess i am in for a treat.

There are some tough fixes on the 3.4, but just the same there are some very simple fixes. Valve cover gaskets are so easy on these engines. hannibal
Ok changed the valve civer gaskets. Still leaking. It started smoking after i drove it a little hard. The smell of burning oil was pretty strong. You could see a tiny amount of smoke coming from the hood when stopped. I dont see a puddle anymore but it is pitch black out. gpchris
Unless the valvecover gasket even there, it shouldn't drench the engine I don't think. The oil pump drive seal would definitely do this but you sound convinced its coming from the drivers side.. I guess you could do your best to inspect the back of the block/head. Maybe send your smartphone back there to take a picture.
