brake
I'm assuming there is a sender for the gauge and a sensor for the ECU? My gauge bottoms out at just above 40 degrees but operation above that seems to be fine (verified the temps)....I'll go out on a day that's well below freezing and it'll still be reading 50* or so Where are each of the sensors? I'm guessing in the LIM somewhere.

I'm guessing in the LIM somewhere. The radiator sensor should be on the right side of the radiator on the actual side, about halfway down. Might be a PITA to get to. On 3800s, the coolant temp sensor is in the LIM. I don't know where it is on 3100s but I can't imagine it being anywhere else.
brake
Is the one in the radiator just for the level? On my Ford there's a 1-wire sender for the gauge and a regular temp sensor for the ECU to read. Is it a similar set up on these cars?
