joecutlass Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 Ive got a great deal for a like new set of 245/45/18 tires for my white gxp rims that go on my 95 gp. Has anyone ever ran this size before and/or had any issues with that size? Quote
pwmin Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 Pretty sure they won't fit without spacers and longer wheel studs because of the offset; that will also take care of the wider tires. There's not much difference in overall height, so that shouldn't be a problem, your speedo will just be off a little. What width are the wheels? http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/info/tmpInfoTireMath.jsp Quote
joecutlass Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 8" I use 5mm spacers now with the 245/40/18's that are on the rims now. How much bigger on the spacers should i go? Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I threw the Infinity wheels on my car with 245/45s and had no issues I'm lowered too. I do have 2g rear knuckles though, I don't know if that makes any difference just for tire size Quote
Addicted To Boost Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I ran 245/40-18s on my 88 GP for a while without any issues with rubbing. Quote
pwmin Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 major problem is the offset difference of 3G vs. 1G Quote
joecutlass Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 Well, if it makes a difference, im not lowered, no suspension mods, just replaced parts. I ran the 245/40/18s with no issues. Juat had to add spacers in the front. Im just trying to figure out if its going to be an issue, or if anyone has ran that size and compensated for the issue. Psych0matt Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Like I said, I had 45s on the front (for test fit purposes, but I'm gonna run 40s in the spring when I get tires) and I had no issues. I may have had a slight rub when maxed turning, but again, it's gonna depend a little bit on what wheels you're gonna run and their offset, and etc. Without being lowered, I think you're find, but I don't know what the specs of your rims are.
