1tinindian
My 95 GTP is in need of mufflers. Stock replacements will be fine, but I can not locate any online. Parts stores seem to only offer 88-93 dual exhaust parts. I was able to buy direct fit mufflers for our 91 GP/SE B4U with duals, but as some of you may know, those mufflers are different than what is on my 95 GTP. What can you suggest? I want to retain my stock tips, so anyhing aftrermarket may present a problem. Thanks, Leon
Psych0matt
I don't know the specifics about your car, but on my cutlass I just went in and they said "yep, we can replace your mufflers for $xx" when I was in for other work. I said ok, picked the car back up later and never thought about it again
GOT2B GM
any 91+ LQ1 mufflers will work
Nick07
I was able to order some identical stock replacements for my 96 Monte Z34 when I had that. I know they are different but it's an option if they happen to be the same size. I know for sure the tips are different, the dual Monte tips came welded to the mufflers already. Just throwin that out there, you could always cut the other tips off and put on your GP tips. Also you could look through a local salvage yard/u-pull it for some decent stockers off another car
chadz34
There were 2 different exhaust systems used for the 3.4 over its 6 years of production. From what I know.... 1991-1994 used cat, and dual mufflers (one of the ''mufflers'' is a resonator) Size is MUCH different. I have the stock exhaust from my Z34 (PM if want) 1996-1997 used cat, in line resonator, and dual mufflers (Quietest system) The early LQ1's suffered huge from rasp. To the point that it sounds disgusting.
55trucker
Have you taken a look at the Maremont (IMCO) website for their OEM replacement items? Exhaust system ref#1581 http://maremont.com/

Odd, it doesn't suprise me there are a few different systems for each car. I'm sure the GP, Lumina, Cutlass, Monte all sound a little different. I'm basing this off my OBD-1 LQ1 and OBD-2 LQ1 car. chadz34
Just a thought, toss 2 Magnaflow mufflers on the car...Heard some nice clips on LQ1's from these. If you want to piss everyone including yourself off....Flowmaster 40's are the way to go. I can't wait to upload a video of my Z34's DIRT SQUIRREL exhaust. WOW is it raspy.
