94 olds vert Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Looking for some pinouts for the wiring of a Cutlass CD player. If anyone knows what color the wires are that run to the doors left and right side that all the info I need. I can't recall off the top of my head when I installed my left door speaker. I'm thinking it might have been green? I'm kinda color blind so I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Quote

alec_b Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 You can always look at the connector itself. Near the pins somewhere on the connector is labeled "A" and "B". Every GM car I've ever seen has had "A" as the negative and "B" as the positive, no matter where the speaker is located. Quote
Starflare5 Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Ok guys, Here is the same basic wiring and colors as all GM vehicles for which I have listed these below: Orange = Memory - 12v Battery Constant. Yellow = Ignition/ACC Power On. Pink = Power Antenna. Black/Blue stripe = Main Ground. Grey = Radio general Illumination and Dimmer. Black = Dimmer Ground (usually not required). Brown/White = Pulse or Display Dimmer. Tan = Left Front + Grey = Left Front - Light Green = Right Front + Dark Green = Right Front - Brown = Left Rear + Yellow = Left Rear - Light Blue = Right Rear - Dark Blue = Right Rear + Front Upper Tweeters Both Left and Right (If so equipped): Tan = Positive + Grey = Negative - Rear Bass Amp/Subwoofer Output; Both Left and Right (If so equipped): Blue/White = Positive + Green/Black = Negative - Extended Wires (Cutlass Supreme and some others): Dark Green = E&C Data Bus (Also Is sterring Wheel Controls for older GEN 1 W-body Vehicles and radios). Bright Yellow = Digital Dash Dimmer/Illumination (Can be combined with either Parking/Pulse/Diisplay Dimmer, or normal Illumination Dimmer). Purple/White Stripe = Digital Climate Control Reverse Polarity Dimmer. Now right there in the above is the typical wire colors indigenous to almost every GM vehicle. I hope this helps, Starflare5.
